Welcome to the Interior Highland Dance Website

The Interior Highland Dance Association of BC (IHDA) was established on September 1, 1975 as a non-profit society to promote and conduct Highland dancing, games and competitions within the Southern Interior of BC. At present, our association is comprised of members from Kamloops to Princeton and Salmon Arm to Penticton.

Our goals and objectives are to achieve membership of all who are involved in Highland dancing within the Southern Interior of BC; to provide high quality, local Highland dancing competitions; to provide support for our member dancers in the Provincial and Inter-Provincial championships; and to advance the level of performance of our dancers. On March 20, 1991 the association hosted the first Western Canada Open Championship competition. The efforts of the members of the IHDA have made this annual event a success, enjoyed by competitors and spectators alike.

The accomplishments of the association have only been possible through the active participation of all our members.
